How to transfer what's app data to Arattai app?

Abstract:

Currently, direct transfer of WhatsApp chat data (messages, media, contacts, etc.) to Arattai is not officially supported by either app. WhatsApp and Arattai use different encryption models, databases, and backup formats, so an automated import/export between them isn’t possible at the moment.

However, you can manually preserve and transfer some information using the following methods 👇

🔹 Option 1: Export and Backup WhatsApp Chats (Manual Transfer)

You can export important WhatsApp chats and store or share them manually.

Steps:

  1. Open the WhatsApp chat you want to save.

  2. Tap on the three dots (⋮) → More → Export chat.

  3. Choose With media or Without media.

  4. Save the exported .txt file (and attachments, if selected) to your phone storage or Google Drive.

  5. You can then send this file to your Arattai contacts (or your own Arattai account) for reference.

⚠️ Note: These files will not appear as regular messages in Arattai; they will be readable text files (for record/reference).

🔹 Option 2: Transfer Media Files (Photos, Videos, Docs)

You can move your WhatsApp media to Arattai.

Steps:

  1. Open your File Manager → WhatsApp → Media folder.

  2. Copy the desired folders (e.g., WhatsApp Images, WhatsApp Videos).

  3. Paste them into a new folder or directly share them via Arattai to your contacts.

This helps you retain important media like documents, images, or videos.

🔹 Option 3: Sync Contacts

Since both apps use your phone number for contact identification:

  1. Ensure your contacts are saved in your phone’s address book.

  2. Install Arattai and allow contact access.

  3. Arattai will automatically detect and list your contacts who are already using Arattai.

🔹 Option 4: Notify Contacts About Switching

Arattai provides an option to invite WhatsApp friends via SMS or link:

  • Open Arattai → Tap Invite Friends → Share your invite link through WhatsApp.
