Abstract : Extended Reality (XR) is an umbrella term for technologies that merge physical and virtual worlds, including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). The technical foundation relies on specialized  hardware  for input/output and powerful  software  and  algorithms  for processing and managing the immersive experience.   Hardware Devices The specific hardware used varies based on the type of XR experience, ranging from existing mobile devices to specialized head-mounted displays.   Head-Mounted Displays (HMDs):  These are the primary devices for delivering immersive experiences.
