How to Do Auto Formatting of your Book Manuscript in Word?
Here's how to do it:
1. Add AutoFormat to the Quick Access Toolbar:
- Click on the Files tab on the Ribbon and then click on Options.
- In the Word Options dialog box, click on Quick Access Toolbar in the left sidebar.
- From the right pane, select "Commands Not in the Ribbon" from the drop-down menu.
- Scroll down and find the "AutoFormat" item in the dialog.
- Click on "Add" and then click on "OK".
2. Apply AutoFormat:
- Open the document you want to format.
- Click the AutoFormat tool on the Quick Access Toolbar.
- Word will display the AutoFormat dialog box.
- You can choose to have AutoFormat work without stopping for input or review each change, says Microsoft Support.
- Click OK to apply the formatting.

- You can also adjust AutoFormat settings in Word Options, under File > Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options > AutoFormat As You Type to customize how Word automatically formats your text, according to Microsoft.
