GATE 2025:
The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee will conduct the GATE 2025 examination on February 1, 2, 15 & 16, 2025 for 30 different disciplines. The official notification has been released on official website and registration will start from August 24, 2024. Applicants who have completed their graduation in science, technology, arts, commerce, or the humanities or are in their third year/final year will be able to apply for the GATE 2025 registration form.

Mode of Examination: The test papers will be in English and conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) at select centers in select cities.
Eligibility Criteria
IIT Roorkee, which is the GATE 2025 conducting authority, will be determining the eligibility criteria for aspirants who wish to appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering examination.
However, the GATE Eligibility Criteria remain similar for all years, as explained below.
- GATE 2025 Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have completed or be in the final or third year of their bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, architecture, science, or the humanities from a recognized university or institution.
- GATE 2025 Nationality: All Indian citizens are eligible. Additionally, applicants who fulfill the GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria from international countries can also apply.
- GATE 2025 Age Limit: There is no specific age requirement, which implies applicants from diverse age groups can sit for the GATE 2025 examination.

• General Aptitude: 15 marks
• Engineering Mathematics: 13 marks
• Subject Questions: 72 marks
• Total: 100 marks
(Note: Engineering Sciences (XE) includes an Engineering Mathematics section XE-A worth 15 marks)
For papers Architecture (AR), Chemistry (CY), Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA), Ecology and Evolution (EY), Geology and Geophysics (GG), Mathematics (MA), Physics (PH), Statistics (ST), Humanities and Social Sciences (XH), and Life Sciences (XL):
• General Aptitude: 15 marks
• Subject Questions: 85 marks
• Total: 100 marks
Marking SchemeQuestions carry either 1 mark or 2 marks.
Negative Marking:
For a wrong answer in a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ), negative marking applies:
• 1/3 mark deducted for a 1-mark MCQ.
• 2/3 mark deducted for a 2-mark MCQ.
No negative marking for wrong answers to Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) or Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. No partial marking in Multiple Select Questions (MSQ).

GATE 2025 Admit Card
IIT Roorkee will made the GATE 2025 Admit Card public before two or three weeks of the final exam date. To download it, applicants must have their enrollment or email ID and password. Find the easy-to-follow steps to download the GATE 2025 Admit Card outlined below.
Step 1: Go to the GATE 2025 Official Website, i.e., www.iitr.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on the GATE 2025 Admit Card Link.
Step 3: Enter the enrollment ID, registered email ID, password, and captcha to login.
Step 4: Once done, click “Submit,” and the GATE 2025 Admit Card will be displayed.
Step 5: Click on “Download” to save it for future reference.
