Arqus Scholarship Scheme designed to attract and retain talent at postgraduate level from around the world.

Arqus mentioned " We are looking for talented graduates and students who want to pursue a Master’s or Doctoral Degree at one of the Arqus partner universities (Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon 1, Maynooth, Minho, Padua, Vilnius and Wroclaw) including a compulsory mobility at a second Arqus partner.

The scholarship is composed of a subsistence allowance of 1,400.00€/month to cover the student’s living costs, medical insurance and a materials allowance.

In addition, the Arqus Talent Scholarship will cover the tuition fee at the student’s entrance university.

The Arqus European University Alliance would also like to support students with fewer opportunities under this scholarship scheme by providing a special needs fund of 250€/month.

Priority will be given to refugees/asylum seekers, students with fewer opportunities and applicants with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree not obtained at the Arqus university where they will undertake the Master’s or doctoral studies or where they are currently enrolled.

Selected scholars will receive a comprehensive package of benefits, including:

A generous subsistence allowance of €1,400.00 per month to cover living expenses, medical insurance, and materials.

Conditions and Duration

The scholarship is structured as follows:

Subsistence allowance: €1,400.00/month

Tuition fee coverage

Special needs fund: €250.00/month

Master students can avail of the scholarship for a maximum duration corresponding to the regular length of their chosen program (12, 18, or 24 months), while doctoral students can receive support for up to 36 months.

Compulsory Mobility and Engagement

Successful applicants are required to undertake a compulsory mobility at a second Arqus partner university, which can take various forms such as study periods, training, or research stays. The duration of the mobility must comply with the regulations of the entrance university, with a minimum duration of one month.

Moreover, scholars are encouraged to actively participate in Arqus activities and serve as ambassadors within their respective universities. An online orientation session will provide essential information about the compulsory mobility and ambassadorship program.

Payment and Reimbursement

Scholarship payments are disbursed on a semester basis, contingent upon confirmation of enrollment and academic performance/transcript of records for Master’s students, and doctoral students’ progress reports endorsed by their supervisors. Tuition fees will be reimbursed directly to the scholars upon presentation of payment confirmation.

Application Details

Applicants already receiving state scholarships are welcome to apply, provided they meet the admission criteria. However, Arqus scholarships cannot be combined with other EU-funded scholarships.
