Elevate Yourself Possessing the Courage, Have Guts and Bring Success to Glory. Engineer Your Future with Proven Success Stories!

Abstract
Success will not be achieved without hard work and struggle.
Every man's dream is to be successful but achieving success is in your hands. Success begins with someone's efforts and hard work. If a person has a goal and does not try to fulfil his goal, then he can never achieve success. To be successful, a person needs to work hard and put in a lot of effort.
Hard work is the most important key to success. Achievements without hard work are impossible. An idle person can never gain anything if they sit and wait for a better opportunity to come. The person who is working hard is able to gain success and happiness in life.

So no guts no glory.

1. What's the Guts?
The meaning of Guts is literally "Possess the courage", as in Does he have the guts to dive off the high board? This expression replaces the earlier and now obsolete sense of stomach as “courage,” a usage from the early 1500s.
The idea that there is no success without struggle is a common saying that reflects the belief that overcoming challenges and setbacks is often necessary for achieving success. While it is true that many successful individuals have faced and overcome obstacles on their paths to success, it's important to note that success can be achieved in various ways and not all success is born out of struggle. Some people may achieve success through privilege, luck, or a combination of factors that don't necessarily involve significant struggle. It's also worth considering that success can be defined in different ways by different people, and what constitutes struggle for one person may not be the same for another.

2. What's Glory?
The full meaning of glory is great admiration, honor, and praise. It is great admiration, honor, and praise that you earn by achieving something, or something which deserves admiration or honor

3. How Guts and Glory arre interrelated?
People define prosperity and success in different ways.  Prosperity means everything is going my way.  I’m doing well.  Making good money.  Have all I need and much of what I want.  Success is similar, at least from the world’s standards.  Good job; good paycheck; good opportunity . . .some may even equate a life well lived as being successful.

With the worldwide shortage of qualified engineers expected to hit a critical point in the next 15 years, now might just be the best time in history to come out of College with an engineering degree. This demand for technical talent is certainly great news for anyone entering the engineering profession. But to paraphrase the old business institute saying, “with success comes increased competition.” And you can be sure the best jobs go to the best prepared.

Striving to do our very best in this world is not necessarily a bad thing, however, we know that God sees things differently than we see them.  His is a divine and eternal perspective, and we would do well to try to understand how He views prosperity and success.

So Guts and Glory. No guts no glory. You can dive more in to derive more in life. Do you agree...?

4. What qualities are required to have guts to achieve glory?

As you forge ahead on your professional career, you’re going to take the world by storm. You’re talented and trustworthy, and you have a work ethic that’s second to none. These words probably aren’t coming as a surprise. You’ve already achieved a successful track record and have earned the trust and respect of your peers. Sure, you’ll be faced with obstacles, slammed by adversity, and may even doubt yourself along the way. But I’m confident that you have what it takes to be a success. You’re going to be a star. There’s just one thing I’d like you to keep top of mind: Courage.

It’s important for you to believe in yourself, stand up for the principles that you hold dear, and see the world for what it really is, not what you want it to be. Don’t be afraid to embrace change, confront uncertainty, and face the unknown. For these things are ways of life. Make sure to be bold, follow your heart, and dream BIG. As Walt Disney once said, “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”

Engineers are all about solving problems using specialist technical and practical skills. It’s all about maths, science, research, prototypes, design, maintenance and production. Every industry and every area of society depends on the precise and efficient work of engineers. The engineers provide technological solutions to the problems, issues and ideas that affect every area of our lives. They design, manufacture and maintain almost everything people and industries use, from computers, spacecraft and boats to corkscrews, buildings and chemical reactors. Technological advances would never happen without engineers. Consequently, the people who work in this sector are massively important in developing the future of our society.

There are so many different areas of engineering to work in; however, most engineers choose to specialise in just one, such as Electrical, automotive or robotics. Careers in engineering are constantly evolving and new processes and technologies are being developed all the time. This allows engineers to stay on the ball and react to new problems and challenges in their chosen field. Engineering careers are constantly varied in terms of their job responsibilities, but also in their working locations. As an engineer you could be working in an office, in a laboratory, on an oil rig in the middle of the ocean, in a factory, or even in outer space. Each engineering discipline requires professionals with very specific skill-sets. However, each and every area of this sector is as complex as the next. Consequently, all engineers need to have strong mathematical skills, logic and the ability to rise to intellectual and practical challenges. If you've got what it takes, you might be a successful engineering professional.

People with courage possess ten shared characteristics. They should remain as guideposts in your journey through life:

Self-confidence

Courageous people believe in themselves. They know who they are and what they stand for. They have strong values, recognize their personal capabilities, and are confident in meeting the challenges that lie before them. Courageous people are passionate and purposeful. You can sense courageous people when they walk into a room –– they have a bounce in their step, maintain a positive outlook, and are comfortable in their own skin.

Conviction

You always know where courageous people stand. They’re passionate about their beliefs and values and have consistent and predictable behavior. They don’t blindly follow the crowd, waffle in the face of adversity, or change their opinion unless the change is supported by a strong, factual case.

Integrity

Courageous people know the difference between right and wrong. They don’t just talk about honor; they live it every day by following the letter, as well as the spirit, of the law. Courageous people are trustworthy, objective, fair, and tolerant, and they stand up against injustice –– backing their words with action.

Leadership

Courageous people aren’t deterred by adversity or afraid of what people may think of them. Courageous leaders motivate people with personal charisma, expertise, integrity, and respect rather than by using their position or authority as a crutch. They are tough, but fair. While they may ask others to achieve the “impossible,” they ask of others only what they’re willing to do themselves.

Compassion

Courageous people put other people’s needs ahead of their own. They know that the Captain must go down with the ship and that being selfless helps to gain the respect of friends and colleagues.

Objectivity

Courageous people understand the importance of trust, honesty, and full disclosure while confronting people who hide behind untruths. They believe that people are willing to make tough decisions if the options are presented to them in an open, honest, and objective manner. They also believe that people should admit their mistakes, learn from them, and move on rather than waste precious time playing politics.

Adversity

Courageous people aren’t afraid of swimming against the tide or challenging the status quo. They stare adversity in the eye — running toward the problem rather than away from it. They know that saying “no” to one idea may enable them to say “yes” to another, and that old ways of doing things shouldn’t stand in the way of a better solution.

Change Masters

Courageous people step outside their comfort zone to meet the challenges that lie ahead. They know that change is part of life and that some of the greatest advances have been realized by embracing change.

Embrace the Unknown

Courageous people follow their intuition. If information required to make a good decision isn’t available, they follow their instincts.

Action

Courageous people put their money where their mouth is. They know that it’s not enough to talk about doing something –– instead, they act.

Shailesh Jha

Shailesh Jha, Batch 2008-2012 Electrical Engineering presently employed in TATA MOTORS, explains that for becoming an electrical engineer requires training, commitment, and the willingness to wonder about questions such as how a flat screen television manages to be energy efficient or how a Las Vegas casino manages to use so much electricity without blowing a fuse. Electrical engineers answer the tough electrical questions and may work on anything from handheld gadgets to massive electrical grids. In getting there, electrical engineers must consider questions such as: What level of degree should I get to maximize my income? What concentration should I learn to obtain my dream career? Do I have to join an engineering firm or can I work on my own?

According to him, to succeed as a best Electrical Engineer, one needs to

Use mathematical concepts to solve problems
Understand how transmission lines carry alternate current
Install and maintain power control equipment, motors and other electrical devices used in manufacturing plants and power plants
Learn analyzing and designing complex electrical devices, software, and systems
Communicate with other industries and business professionals effectively

Harshita Bhat

Harshita Bhat, 2009-2013 Batch CSE student of Jaipur Engineering College, advises that whether you enrolled for a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, you want to be a top student and prove you constantly advance your computing skills. Regardless of your specialization, Computer Science degrees are challenging, even if you are a super tech fanatic and passionate. So how do you deal and work with a significant amount of new information you learn every day matters a lot.

Here are five basic tricks you need to keep in mind if you want to be a successful Computer Science student, if not, the best in your class.

Focus on practical skills
Studying the night before a deadline will NOT work
You could also make little websites or programs just for yourself, to test your abilities and push yourself further.
Team work takes some skills you’ll need to brush up on and work constantly.

6. Strategies to develop skills for guts and Glory

There are ten effective ways to ease into the empowerment process:

  • Define what management means by empowerment. Understand the difference between perceptions and definitions.
  • Take an honest look at your real values and beliefs (as contrasted with your espoused values and beliefs). Are you walking your talk and talking your walk?
  • Using feedback, determine if most of the workforce will support the effort (if not, stop here). Ask people what they need in order to take the risks associated with empowerment.
  • Revisit vision/mission/goals – Make sure they are customer-focused, clear and understandable to all. Define the words if necessary (what does it mean to be a “premier” company?).
  • Assess current level of skills in the organization, including individual readiness, personal and intergroup relationships as well as organizational structures and “policies.”
  • Assess the adequacy of the information system in company; can it support the effort? People need information to be empowered.
  • Plan ongoing training efforts in interpersonal communications/team skills. These relationship skills are at the hub of any change initiative, and can make or break the effort.
  • Work with employees, in teams and individually, to begin the process of challenging old beliefs and assumptions. Look at assumptions about the customers, the marketplace and your competencies.
  • Together, with their input, make the vision come alive in ways that everyone understands and supports.
  • Create it! Be sure to regularly assess and refine the process and the goals toward which you’re working.
So your guts and glory should be skillful at building and maintaining an environment of trust and emotional safety, enabling everyone to take steady steps forward.

7. Conclusions
Don’t forget that you’re not alone, and its’ highly unlikely you’ll be alone in the workplace as well. You’re likely to be part of a team.
Your studies are critical, but they shouldn’t be the only thing in your life. Going out and having fun will refresh your mind and increase your grades. Relax, have fun, and good luck!

8. FAQs
